We wholeheartedly believe that growth happens in face-to-face interactions. We have programs for infants - 5th grade (KidZone), 6th-12th grade (Youth), and college - young adults (Glow). If you are a young adult to senior adult, we encourage you to join a Life Group!
Our desire is for your child to know, love, and trust Jesus!Â
Every Sunday morning:
-Infant - 4th grade in Room 14
-5th -6th grade in hallway
When you arrive, check in your child at our KidZone table (located by the main entrance gate). We'll give your child a wristband and you a wristband that you’ll need to pick your child up. Then, you and your child will make your way to the auditorium for service. After singing and announcements, the children are dismissed to KidZone. At this time, escort your child to the KidZone area.Â
At KidZone, your child will connect with God, one another, and the neighborhood through Bible stories, crafts, activities, small groups, and prayer. Snacks will be served, so let us know of any food allergies.
Pick up your child immediately after service.
YOUTH LIFE GROUP
Research shows there is great value in integrating middle high and high school students with adults. For this reason, students are encouraged to join the adults in service, assist in KidZone and engage in Youth Life Group on the 1st and 3rd Sunday month.Â
In Youth Life Group students grow in their faith through conversation and relationships. We will walk with your child as they figure out who they are and who God is.
YOUTH GROUP
We believe it takes a village to raise a teenager. However, we've noticed that the interactions among youth and adults are limited on a Sunday morning. So, we have created a safe place for youth to learn from the adults of Westlight Community Church (including college students, parents, and pastors). Our priority is to address issues that the youth are interested in discussing. We gather off-site on the 2nd and 4th Sundays after service.
If you graduated from high school and are younger than 30, we welcome you to Glow! Whether you're looking for a home church or need a place to worship while you attend a nearby college (UCLA, Santa Monica College, etc.), you're welcome to be a part of the Glow folx!
Circles are better than rows. When we sit in rows on a Sunday morning, we engage in one-way talk. However, when we sit in circles, authentic and healthy conversations ensue. We receive the grace and truth we need to grow.Â
The most effective form of discipleship is in our Life Groups, where we share life with one another.
WHAT ARE LIFE GROUPS?
A typical Life Group ranges from 4 to 12 people.Â
Each Life Group is a little different, depending on the make-up of its members. Groups meet weekly or biweekly for authentic and healthy conversation, sharing life with one another, serving the neighborhood, and having fun!Â
We are meant to journey through life together.
PURPOSE OF LIFE GROUPS
We want to be a community that loves and cares for people. No matter who, no matter what. Because Jesus first loved us.Â
